Toyota Goes Bold For Super Bowl Sunday
As Super Bowl Sunday approaches, the anticipation builds. Will the Seattle Seahawks make it two in a row? Or will the New England Patriots prove all those crazy winter blizzards only make them stronger? Some of you VroomGirls may be getting your blue and green or blue and red face paint ready, while others of you may be wondering what the heck a seahawk is. Love football or hate it, but chances are good that you will be in the vicinity of a wide-screen TV on Sunday.
Of course, you don’t have to be a football fan to enjoy the Super Bowl. The real stars of the show are those fantastic ads that make their big debut for the big game. Every year, they get more and more extreme, boasting bigger celebrities, crazier special effects, and more tear-jerking moments involving horses and dogs.
Toyota has taken a bit of a different step this year. No talking babies, no dancing frogs, no enormous patriotic horses. Toyota has taken its new word of inspiration, BOLD, and expressed it through a series of videos featuring some real life heroes doing some amazing things. There are some spots featuring the amazing Amy Purdy, a double-amputee who won a bronze medal snowboarding at the 2014 Paralympic Games in Sochi and finished in second place this season on Dancing With The Stars. Another features some star athletes sharing their boldest decision–to be great dads to their kids.
So–get your own personal crockpot of melty, gooey, processed cheese dip so you can double-dip all you want (don’t act like you don’t know the one I’m talking about–you know you love it!) and a big bag of chips, and settle in for a Sunday afternoon of watching inspiring feats of courage. And in between those, there may be a football game, if you are interested.
