Five Things to Know About the 2018 Toyota Tundra TRD Sport
Toyota’s rugged full-size pick-up truck is already macho and buff. But families that really demand more performance from their vehicles will love the refreshed 2018 Toyota Tundra TRD. TRD is the moniker for Toyota Racing Development. Racing, you ask? In a pick-up truck?
Think sporty handling, sportier acceleration, sportier steering, and most of all, sportier styling. The new Tundra TRD Sport gets beefy 20″ silver alloy wheels with sharp black accents, color-keyed mirrors and front and rear bumpers, a new mesh front grille (on select trims), TRD insignias on exterior components and on the interior shift knob and floor mats. The SR and SR5 grades now have standard halogen headlamps and daytime running lights.
Take the 2018 Toyota Tundra where other pick-ups fear to tread. Available in a 4X4 version or 4X2, and in CrewMax and Double Cab configurations, this beast us up to the task whether at work or family play. The Tundra wears a 381-horsepower, 5.7L i-Force V8 engine to power through the toughest terrain. Ride quality is enhanced by new TRD Sport Tuned Bilstein Shocks and TRD front and rear anti-sway bars.
Included in the Tundra’s 2018 refresh are enhanced safety features. All Tundra models, including the TRD version, will now include Toyota Safety Sense as standard. One of the best safety packages available from any brand, Toyota Safety Sense includes active safety technology which includes: Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert, Auto High Beams, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. All of these features are viewed on the large color information screen.
Who will clamor for the 2018 Toyota Tundra TRD? You gals in the horsey set, boaters, campers, and families who love the great outdoors!
