Not one for the strong silent type? How about the strong, slam-you-against-the-wall-and-kiss-you-hard type? Yeah, that’s the ticket.

10 Things To Know About the 2014 Bentley Continental GT V8 S
We took this bad boy on a racetrack in sunny, gorgeous Palm Springs, Ca. and let him show us who’s the boss. Seated beside me, a perfectly English race car driver, who compelled me squeeze every last ounce of power out of the engine, as we barreled down the straightaways and nosed into the corners. The Bentley Continental GT V8 S is not a race car, or even a track car. But the point was to show the Bentley GT’s handling prowess and the new V8 S engine’s slam-you-kiss-you power. Uh huh, we saw and felt it just fine.
Though this Bentley is a large coupe, it handles like a much smaller car. And we think we’d love it even more on a twisty, curvy mountain road, where the car would more naturally reside.
It’s pretty, in a manly, buff, guy kind of way. We gals like the look of masculine wheels, too.
Who’s the new Bentley for? The wealthy who have tired of the mass-produced Mercedes’, Porsche’s, and Lexus’. The S model gets special treatment over the regular 4.0-liter V8 version. It’s faster – from 500 hp in the V8 to 521 horsepower in the V8 S. And it’s stiffer, so that cornering is tighter, sportier. Special 20″ wheels, equipped with big red brake calipers, are standard There are optional super powerful carbon ceramic brakes that have more robust stopping strength and don’t fade as quickly under heavy braking conditions.
Big and powerful, the 2014 Bentley Continental GT V8 S goes from a standstill to 60 mph in an exhilarating and braid-twisting 4.3 seconds. Shockingly fast for such a large car.
Nearly everything about the Bentley is handmade. From the stitching on the soft leather seats, to the dashboard, to the multi-function steering wheel…artisan-quality workmanship is readily apparent throughout.
Like to go topless? So does the 2014 Bentley Continental GT V8 S. Get the convertible version and make your gal pals all the more envious. It has a four-ply roof liner to keep road and traffic noise well muted.
Optional cooling seats make sure you’ll not arrive having sullied your Chanel jacket.
New open-spoke 20″ wheels with brightly painted red brake calipers, smokey dark-tint headlights (way cool!), and Beluga gloss (that’s basically dark grey/black to you and me) touches on the grille and side mirrors are all touches that differentiate this special GT V8 S version from the base-model Bentley Continental GT. They’re slick, look expensive, and let those in the know see that you’ve popped for the little extras.
The 2014 Bentley Coninental GT V8 S, whether coupe or convertible, comes standard with all-wheel drive. Excellent traction for wet and dry conditions.
One thing’s for sure. Should you decide to spring for this Bentley, you’ll likely not see another like it, as it’s a limited model. So be prepared to get attention, and be complemented often.
Final Thoughts
We love the power, prestige and downright poshness of the 2014 Bentley Continental GT V8 S. But we love it even more as a convertible. It's a splurge at $219,925.
Big power, great style
Comfort like no other
Well...the fuel economy is as expected for such a beast
One Response to “Bentley Continental GT V8 S”
Great car! Iv driven the cabriolet and the coupe, I think the cabriolet is miles better than the coupe and will definitely give you more smiles per mile on a sunny day. It makes the car feel much more special. Me and my brother got them both for my sisters wedding and we were arguing about who got to drive which!
