The British are famous for understatement and elegance. But Bluebloods also do love their pomp pageantry. And so with these seemingly incongruous traits, the veddy, veddy British Aston Martin roars onto the scene with the V12 Vantage S.

10 Things To Know About The 2015 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S

1

No shy wallflower this one…The 2015 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S is as fast as a cheetah (which for Guinness Book lovers, is the fastest land animal), shooting from zero to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds. The V12 Vantage S also has the capability to race the world’s fastest bird – the Peregrine Falcon – with a top speed of 205 mph. So if you’re in a hurry, or impatient, this Aston Martin is for you.

2

Though it won’t win any hyper-mile awards, the V12 Vantage S is certainly more fuel efficient than the previous generation, thanks in part to variable valve timing and a new dual-clutch seven-speed transmission. It is also 44 pounds lighter, giving it a better power-to-weight ratio = faster.

3

The 2015 Aston Martin Vantage S has three-stage adaptive dampening. Select from Normal, Sport and track modes to tighten the suspension, from a softer (Normal) ride on city streets, to a more taut Sport suspension for better handling on twisty mountain roads, to Track mode, which tightens the suspension so well that the car takes corners more precisely (though you’ll feel every little bump.)

4

With all this power comes the need to stop quickly. No problem here, since the V12 Vantage S comes standard with improved carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes; among the best you can buy. Stomp your Louboutins on the brake, and this gal responds.

3

Steering is sheer precision. We were fortunate to take the 2015 Aston Martin Vantage S on a racetrack outside of Palm Beach, Fl. We drove the heck out of it, and were thrilled by its performance. Steering, handling, acceleration, and stopping. It all seemed so effortless.

And though the Vantage S is a serious sports car, with bona fide aptitude, it drives as easily as any car. No special training needed to control this charmer. Though, to be safe, VroomGirls always advocates taking a performance driving class, should you be fortunate enough to buy a fast sports car. After all, you want to be able to get the most out of your wheels…but safely.

5

Special tinkering now allows for easier slow-speed steering, all the better to maneuver in tight parking lots.

6

Should you decide to drive your new 2015 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S on a racetrack – and we suggest you should – this redesigned model comes with a Track setting that still allows for the Dynamic Stability Control to remain on. This means that the safety equipment that can get you out of a spin will remain alive, but still allow for a little sliding in corners, which is why you’d want to be on a track in the first place.

7

Comes standard with Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, which are excellent for road grip and handling in both wet and dry conditions.

8

Steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters allow you to flip through all seven gears. No foot-based clutch here.

9

Snazzy features include new forged aluminum-alloy 10-spoke wheels, a new front carbon fiber grille in black or titanium silver mesh, and two leather options for the sports seats.

10

The 2015 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S is the quickest street-legal vehicle the company has ever made. It’s not a car for everyone, which makes it all the more special. But any speed freak will thrill to the V12 Vantage S’ acceleration.

You want an everyday driver, but also something for those moments you desire to cut loose. The 2015 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S is race performance for the open road. Hit the accelerator and get slammed into your seat. What gal doesn't want that?
