Mixologist Ky Soto’s of Thirsty Crow in Los Angeles newest creations use warm, comforting flavors that range from sweet to smokey. One of his faves, Jemima Knows Best, blends Famous Grouse Scotch, Aunt Jemima Maple Syrup and Benedictine Liqueur – stirred and served up in a coupe with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. “With a fall menu, I think maple and cinnamon,” says Soto. “In this drink I had to use Aunt Jemima Maple Syrup – I grew up eating waffles with Aunt Jemima Syrup every morning.”
.25 oz Benedictine
.75 oz Aunt Jemima Pancake Syrup
2 oz Famous Grouse Blended Scotch
Two dash fresh ground cinnamon
Shake well and serve over ice in a coupe or martini glass.
