A Beetle For Ebby
Hey VroomGirls!! I have a 2004 Hyundai Elantra. The problem is that I’ve always wanted a Volkswagen New Beetle (NOT the newer models 2012-2013). I like the older models from 2003-2011. I’ve had my car for about 5 years now. I was given this car from my parents. Don’t get me wrong, I am so thankful & grateful for my car; but I’ve always wanted a VW new Beetle as my 1st car. That’s my dream car!! I want to trade my car in for one but my parents think that’s a bad idea. They say the Beetle is too small and its not safe for a young petite girl like myself. The point is…I don’t care! Lol. I want my Beetle lol. And i heard that they stopped making the older models now, so i don’t have much time left. Do you think that i can get a good deal for a Beetle these days? Are the older models still around? Would that be a smart move? What should i do?

Ha, that’s funny, Ebby. Well, we wouldn’t be responsible if we told you not to listen to your parents. So…listen to your parents. But if you don’t, then yes, a Beetle is a very safe and reliable car for a young woman, such as yourself. I bought my son a VW Golf when he turned 16. And believe me, I would never buy him anything that wasn’t absolutely safe. He’s been driving it with no problems (not even a ticket!) for more than three years. So I have no qualms or concerns about VW safety.
As for getting a previous generation Beetle, they’re easy to find. Simply visit a VW dealership near you to test drive the pre-owned Beetles. They come with complete warranties and have been checked out for safety and reliability. We like the older gen Beetles, too!
